CHRISTMAS SHUT DOWN AND RETURN OF EMPTY CONTAINERS

CHRISTMAS SHUT DOWN AND RETURN OF EMPTY CONTAINERS
As we approach the Christmas holiday period we would again like to remind clients of the importance of
planning enough time for your deliveries so that the empty containers can be returned before the
Christmas break. Some transport companies have already extended their empty notification period from
48 to 72 hours.
With the exorbitant detention fees being charged by the shipping lines a little planning now could save you
a considerable amount of money later.
We would also like to remind clients who allow their supplier to arrange the shipping to ensure their
supplier arranges a minimum of 10 free days from the first day of availability in which to return the empty
container.
Transport companies will not be liable for any detention incurred prior to 10 free days. Should you have any
question regarding this please contact your local CFL office
